A private not for-profit research-intensive SME from Lisbon in the area of Biotechnology and Life Sciences. Set up in 1989, this company bridges university and industry research by establishing partnerships particularly in the areas related to Biopharma and Food & Nutraceuticals, while also creating and organizing autonomous knowledge and expertise. Thirty years later, this company is now the largest private Portuguese non-profit institution devoted to Biotechnology Research. This company is a certified service provider offering solutions for Biopharmaceuticals & Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs), and for Foods, Nutraceuticals & Bioactive Ingredients. This company’s infrastructure comprises cutting edge laboratories, a Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) certified Analytical Services Unit and a Pilot Plant Unit providing protein and virus production, bioprocess development technologies and production process scale up services for biologics. This company also has access to the GMP manufacturer GenIbet which together allows this company to present solutions for the development of Biopharmaceuticals, from R&D all the way up to Phase I/II clinical trials.

This company hosts 4 satellite laboratories (Novartis, Bayer, Merck and Sanofi) and has a broad network of collaborations, ranging from national and international companies, research institutes, foundations and public institutions. This company provides partnerships for process development and optimization, all the way to cGMP Production, including technology transfer expertise, process understanding，process development, process optimization unit operations development and optimization (Up and downstream) including perfusion, affinity chromatography, tangential flow filtration.

Track record of over thirty vaccine candidates, five of which being marketed nowadays. Virus, VLP, Proteins, using animal cells, bacteria and Pichia Pastoris biologies.
